Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI)

Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) is a crucial quality control service that ensures your products meet your quality standards before export, preventing quality issues from shipping, and avoiding costly returns or customer complaints. It happens when 80%-100% of products are completed and packed. During the PSI, our eAQF inspector will randomly select samples based on Acceptable Quality Limits (AQL) and conduct physical tests to evaluate your product quality. Read more below.

Ensure Product Quality With Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI)

Take effective quality control and avoid costly mistakes with pre-shipment inspection (PSI) services from eAQF.

Deliver High-Quality Products Every Time

As an online or marketplace seller, you know how important it is to deliver high-quality products that meet your standards and satisfy your customers. But once your products are on the way to Amazon's fulfilment centres or your buyers' doorsteps, you lose visibility into their condition. How can you be sure they weren't damaged or didn't leave the factory with defects?

That's where pre-shipment inspection (PSI) comes in. Our experienced quality control inspectors examine your goods at the factory, warehouse, or port before export. They act as your eyes and hands to catch issues before they become expensive customer returns or complaints.

Our pre-shipment inspection services help e-commerce sellers like you avoid issues with quality standards and protect your bottom line.

Reduce Customer Returns and Chargebacks

Customer returns and chargebacks eat into your profits and hurt your seller rating. But with our comprehensive pre-shipment inspections, you can dramatically reduce returns and chargebacks caused by merchandise defects or errors.

We check that your products function properly, match your descriptions, and are undamaged when they leave your suppliers. By catching issues early, we ensure that only conforming goods ship out. You deliver what you promised while avoiding dissatisfied customers.

Get an Unbiased Assessment of Product Quality

It's impossible to monitor production quality when your goods are made overseas. But, our independent inspectors examine your products first-hand at source, providing an objective quality evaluation you can trust.

We gauge compliance with your specifications, purchase orders, and regulatory requirements using established inspection protocols. If we uncover any defects or inconsistencies, we document them thoroughly so you can correct problems with your supplier.

Our rigorous inspection process confirms your products meet expectations before your customers receive them.

Verify Order Accuracy to Avoid Costly Shortages and Oversupplies

Are you worried about order errors like inaccurate quantities or missing items? Our inspectors tally and check every shipment, sample testing cartons while tracing boxes to purchase orders and invoices.

We ensure you receive exactly what you paid for-no more or less. With comprehensive pre-export verification, we help you avert inventory gaps or overstock situations down the line, keeping your supply chain running smoothly.

Protect Your Brand Reputation and Avoid Listing Removals

Selling substandard or flawed products can generate negative reviews and damage your brand. Our specialists safeguard your reputation by inspecting merchandise for flaws and verifying compliance before shipment.

We reduce your risk, so you can sell with confidence. Trust eAQF's pre-shipment inspection to preserve your good standing while protecting the reputation you worked so hard to build.

Catch Branding Issues

Our inspectors are trained to spot branding issues and errors before shipment, checking that logos, labels, and packaging are all correct and properly placed.

Leverage specialist expertise to protect your products. Our versatility across supply chains arms you with objective quality assurance tailored to your niche.

Confirm Product Safety With Rigorous On-Site Testing

Beyond verifying quality specs, we determine product safety so your goods comply with destination market requirements.

For garments and textiles, our teams examine:

  • GSM (Grams per Square Meter)
  • Fabric composition like fibre content, weight, and construction using certified lab equipment
  • Colorfastness, ensuring dyes hold up across washing, sunlight exposure, and more
  • Assess seam strength for quality and durability
  • Meticulously screen for any hidden metal or needles
  • Performance properties like stretch recovery, pilling resistance, and tear strength

For products with mechanical moving parts or electronics, we conduct:

  • Operational checks, testing assembled products against functional performance claims
  • Stress tests by simulating long-term use cycles to confirm durability
  • Impact resistance tests using drop equipment to check fragility
  • Gauge electrical safety via insulation, ground continuity, voltage fluctuation, and leakage current tests

For home products like furniture, we do:

  • Structural integrity tests to make sure joints and frames can withstand expected weight and force
  • Repeated stress tests, such as getting up from chairs or opening and closing drawers, to ensure robustness
  • Dimensional accuracy checks to ensure specifications are met within acceptable tolerance
  • Finished quality inspection to check for flaws, uneven staining, chips, scratches or other defects
  • Fabric inspection to check for tears, loose threads, uneven seams and other defects
  • Hardware functionality checks for hinges, locks, and latches, to make sure pieces connect and work properly
  • Packaging inspections to ensure protective packaging safeguards furniture surfaces and edges
  • Compliance tagging and labeling to confirm that warning labels, care instructions, etc, meet regulatory requirements

These hands-on product quality testing gives you confidence products satisfy end-user needs while complying with product safety regulations.

Confirm Compliance With Destination Market Labels

To sell electrical goods like consumer electronics, appliances, lighting, toys, and tools into regulated markets, products must bear specific safety certification marks from accredited testing bodies.
Most products in the European Economic Area (EEA) require CE marking to show assessed conformity with health, safety, and environmental standards. We review your compliance documents and confirm marks are correctly applied so goods move swiftly through customs.
Certification from Underwriters Laboratories (UL) for the US and Canada demonstrates that electric systems and components meet North American safety standards. Our teams check UL marks and registration numbers match filed records, so listings remain valid.

Beyond CE and UL marks, we verify the successful completion of all compulsory safety schemes like CCC for China, PSE for Japan, NOM for Mexico, and more so goods qualify for those regions. Confirming proper market access marks streamlines trade and avoids border delays.
Let our inspection teams ensure your products exhibit the required safety labels for your target export destinations.

Scale Inspection to Meet Your Needs

Whether you import a few pallets or entire container loads, our quality control services provide AQL scalable inspection solutions to suit your requirements.

What Is AQL?

Acceptable Quality Limit, also known as AQL, is the most frequently used method to define a random sample size for inspections. The process is designed to check whether the whole batch meets quality requirements. The industry standard for AQL is based on ISO 2859-1 (ANSI/ASQC Z1.4-2003), published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
The AQL specifies the maximum number of defects permitted in your products: a defect number below the AQL result in a PASS, while a number over the AQL will result in a FAIL.

The AQL can vary depending on different product types and quality requirements. During a pre-shipment inspection, eAQF's inspectors will clearly define and classify any defects found during visual checks and on-site tests, categorising them as Minor, Major, or Critical.
